Duplicat's Diary

Cloud9

Cloud9 was a surprisingly nice way to spend a few hours. The staff were great. They saw us approaching and helped us off the dinghy, then one of them took it out to one of the waiting resort boats, who’s skipper then brought them back returning to their boat in our dinghy. This saved us a swim as they don’t want the dinghy tied to the bar restricting other boats from coming up.

So as well as the bar, there is a wood fired pizza oven, and the whole platform is designed to be used by swimmers. There’s plenty of jumping from the top deck, snorkelling, relaxing in the water to cool down. All of which is great, but we’d already done plenty of that off Duplicat, so didn’t need to repeat. Instead, we settled down with some drinks and pizza.

Quite a few people left with the Cloud9 ferry back to Denarau, leaving just a few people from other resorts. The staff had some left over cheese, so decided to feed the fish..

With wind forecast, we opted to head to Musket Cove rather than risk staying out on the reef. It was a good call, as the wind did pick up a lot that night.
