We left Vatulele and had a very pleasant sail to Likuri island, also known as Robinson Crusoe island. The resort is yacht friendly though despite anchoring there before, I’ve never been ashore.
It can be quite windy, but the breeze was actually nice after the lack of breeze at Vatulele. Because you’re tucked in behind the reef, it can be blowing quite hard and still be very flat onboard.
They charge a FJ$10 landing fee per person (as a one off), but that gets you access to all the resort facilities. We had a nice walk around the island, and decided to come back the next evening to see their meke (Fijian dance), and sample their lovo.
The next evening we went ashore and it was a bit odd. We weren’t sure if they’d booked us in for dinner, and there was quite a few day trippers there, and then even more arrived. However, we needn’t have worried - they had plenty of food for us all. Our FJ$59pp got us a huge plate of food, and seconds if we wanted it (though we couldn’t manage any more at all). Then they got on with their show.

There was a lot of dancing, and some fire dancing. All good fun, but I think the show at Musket Cove is better (though a bit more money). After they’d finished, we headed back to the boat in the dark. Our plan was to leave next morning as we have a deadline to meet Sammie and Bryan in under a week!
