The French are coming!

The other thing the NE winds bring is more boats! Just as the place was emptying out, a flurry of yachts arrived today. First up was a Belgian boat, then 4 french yachts. Bringing up the rear was an American boat. Quite why 4 of them decided to anchor next to us is unclear - boats do tend to attract boats, but the anchorage that was popular a week ago was now empty, so we moved :)

However, before all that happened, we took the opportunity to dinghy out through a pass in the islands to the outer reef. There’s lots of current running around there, but it was very cool to go through in the dinghy and see the other side of the islands.

This was the pass we came through. You aim between the 2 gaps, and then swing left into the deeper channel past that middle rock.

We also took some drone pictures of the swimming hole we’d used the other day. The water was so clear you can only really tell its there by the blue hue.

You can just see the same swimming hole and cut in the island in the picture of our anchorage. This afternoon, now in our new anchorage, we took the paddle boards ashore and had a bit of a walk. We spotted some drinking nuts that looked reachable. Sure enough, a short time later we had 6 drinking nuts and had enjoyed 2 whilst getting the others. Coconuts truly are an amazing resource!

We had planned to dive or snorkel the pass again today, but we had a squall with some rain at low tide, so we’ll do it another time… We have already managed it so we can bit fussy on the weather :)
