We moved back to our first anchorage as we want to be nearer the pass. There’s some calmer weather coming so we want to be ready to go diving and snorkelling…
This morning, at low tide, we went for an explore.

We explored the area up near the pass, and may go through some of the gaps in the islands into the outer reef area at high tide in the next couple of days. We also headed down to some of the other cuts in the island chain that we’re anchored behind. There’s a bit of a gap between the islands and the reef, which the locals used to get to the village in their boats (but only closer to high tide). We found a nice deep pool carved out by the tide as it floods in. Nice for a swim..

If the wind co-operates, we’ll try and dive the pass and maybe some of the reef outside over the next couple of days. By the weekend, we have the South Pacific Convergence Zone visiting which will bring squally wet weather. We will probably move over to Ogea around that time - but we’ll see how the weather pans out…
