The resort was a wonderful stop, but we were let down on the veggies - and we definitely needed some as we ran out yesterday. So this morning we headed up to Somosomo. Back across the dateline and anchored in a rather sketchy anchorage. We decided that I’d stay with the boat as even beaching the dinghy was impossible on the rocky shore. Nina hit the supermarket and the veggie stalls and came back well provisioned.
From Somosomo we headed back across the dateline (honestly, we do know what day it is, but the date is a little hazy!), and into Viani bay. We’ve both been here before - and rather than anchor with teh crowd (9 boats over the north side), we anchored off Willy’s village where we’ve stopped before. Willy is the local fixer, and a great guy. His family live in the small village right on the shores.

The draw here is not in Viani bay itself, but the reef around it. The somosomo strait is flushed through with strong currents twice daily which makes for incredible diving. We plan to do a bit of that for the next week or so.
